Internal Audit Service

Affordable Internal Audits for Parish and Town Councils

Lewis Anderson Enterprises Ltd is pleased to offer a professional Internal Audit Service designed specifically for parish and town councils across England.

Our service has been developed to provide councils with access to experienced internal auditors, a straightforward audit process and a quick turnaround, whilst keeping costs affordable, particularly for councils with annual income and expenditure below £200,000.

We recognise that many councils are finding it increasingly difficult to source experienced internal auditors. By combining a structured digital submission process with a network of experienced associate auditors, we aim to increase internal audit capacity across the sector whilst maintaining high professional standards.

How the service works

Our internal audit service is designed to be simple and efficient, allowing councils to smoothly appoint an internal auditor whilst ensuring they are receiving a quality audit backed by experience.

Did you know?

Our Director, Lewis, has been an internal auditor over five financial years. He has served on the Internal Audit Forum Working Group for Standards & Improvements for four years, and has led the group since 2024 - now sitting on the Internal Audit Forum Executrive Committee.

The Standards & Improvements Team have continuously pushed for the quality of internal audit delivery to remain high, with support, advice  and mentoring offered to new auditors to deliver excellent services and support them into the practice.

1. Receive a quote

Councils can obtain an instant quote through our online quote builder. Click "Get a Quote" to be taken to our quote builder.

2. Appoint Us

Take our quote to full council and ensure the council has approved and minuted our appointment. Please let us know once the appointment has been made!

3. Complete the Audit Submission

At the close of the financial year councils will receive access to our secure internal audit service submission portal.

Our portal guides councils through the information required for the audit and will ask councils to upload all relevant documentation in a single submission.

4. Auditor Allocation

Once submitted, upload is allocated to one of our experienced associate internal auditors for review.

We'll let you know who will be reviewing your submission and you can reach out with any questions you may have.

5. Queries

You can expect one follow up from our internal auditors, usually to request a sample of invoices for inspection. If there are no further queries, you are all set and your Internal Audit Report will be completed and sent across to you.!
